This is the summary of the second episode of the How to Event Podcast, Pandemic Planning: Cancellation Alternatives! While cancellation or postponement of a wedding or special event is a common decision in today’s pandemic climate, there are other options. Many couples and event hosts have opted to re-imagine their events and maintain the original date rather than resorting to pushing it off or – canceling it altogether.

It is extremely important to be mindful of the impact that COVID-19 can have on a group event and I encourage you to be responsible and keep the best interests of your guests in mind. If you are located in an area where there have been spikes of the virus, the smartest option may be to cancel or postpone for the safety of your guests and the staff that will be servicing your event. If it is determined that continuing to move forward with the original date is safe enough, then if you get creative, there are endless event cancellation alternatives to take advantage of.
