Revisiting the 2022 Wedding Planner Strategy Session
On November 30th, 2022 an intimate group of Wedding Planners gathered in Newport, Rhode Island for the first Wedding Planner Strategy Session in preparation for 2023. The focus of this half-day meeting was to bring together like-minded individuals who want to better their businesses through education, discussion, and collaboration. It was the perfect opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, discuss challenges and celebrate successes.
The agenda encompassed several key areas including a recap of the 2022 season, a guided group discussion surrounding business operations and practices, as well as focused goal setting. Topics were submitted by each participant ahead of time and organized into each category and time limits for conversation were set per each discussion point to ensure the session was as organized and purposeful as possible. Each attendee was encouraged to share as much as they were comfortable revealing and I am thrilled to report that everyone’s candid participation made for quite a fruitful gathering.
We were also fortunate to welcome a Zoom presentation from an established and talented local Wedding Planner, Elizabeth Lutz of Elizabeth Lutz Boutique Design & Event Planning. She facilitated a thoughtful conversation regarding fighting the comparison culture in the wedding and event industry and minding your own business to stay dialed in to your own personal and business goals.
Each attendee walked away with a wealth of useful information that could be immediately applied to their business plans for the upcoming 2023 wedding season. This session offered a purposeful method for business-owners to review their past season and discuss opportunities for growth and improvement over the coming year. I am looking forward to the next Wedding Planner Strategy Session, tentatively scheduled for November 2023!
