After nearly two years of thoughtful planning, K&D’s November 2025 wedding at Shepherd’s Run in Rhode Island was a perfect reflection of their personalities, priorities, and love for their closest friends and family. With a personalized approach to every decision, from venue selection to design details, we created a weekend that was uniquely theirs, and a celebration that truly put their guests at the heart of the experience.

A central focus of the weekend was cuisine and guest experience. The couple intentionally removed formalities such as speeches and special dances, opting instead to immerse their friends and family in a celebratory atmosphere. One of the highlights was a personalized engraving station provided by W. Inks Calligraphy, where guests could engrave wooden spoons with messages of their choice and take them home in sleek black gift bags, a thoughtful keepsake that mirrored the couple’s dedication to making everyone feel special.

The energy of the evening was elevated by Soundtrack Central, a 14-piece band from Groovin’ You Entertainment. Guests were greeted upon arrival by musicians and vocalists stationed throughout the space, providing a preview of the music that would carry the evening. Dinner was a four-course experience by Blackstone Caterers, featuring the couple’s favorite dishes alongside artisan breads, breadsticks, and herb-infused oils and butters at every table. Dessert by Wooden Pin Baking Co. included an assortment of cakes, cookies, and chocolate-covered pretzels, rounding out the culinary experience beautifully.

The couple began their planning journey exploring historical venues filled with architectural details, but ultimately landed on Shepherd’s Run in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. This choice marked a meaningful shift from their initial vision, but it proved to be the ideal setting. With on-site accommodations and additional nearby options, the venue offered both convenience and flexibility for a weekend that would bring together about 90 of their nearest and dearest.
K&D’s wedding embraced a non-traditional structure. The official ceremony took place at Providence City Hall on the Thursday before the weekend celebration, attended only by their parents and grandparents, followed by an intimate dinner. This early celebration allowed them to honor family connections in a quiet, meaningful way. The weekend itself kicked off with a family style Welcome Dinner at Celeste in Narragansett, where the couple greeted guests personally, shared laughs, and set the tone for a weekend centered on connection and joy.

On the wedding day, K&D enjoyed a relaxed morning getting ready with a few close friends and family members. After completing couple and family portraits on the property, guests began arriving at Shepherd’s Run to discover the thoughtful, guest-centered experience awaiting them. The design, planned and designed by Eventlightenment Planning, exuded what the couple affectionately described as “Sex and the City” vibes. Soft, velvet champagne linens paired with chic blush and black accents created a sophisticated palette, while simple yet stunning florals by Florio Florals brought warmth and cohesion. Modern table lamps added an intimate glow, and playful fruit accents injected a pop of unexpected chartreuse, adding whimsy to the elegant setting.

As the night unfolded, guests danced freely and celebrated in a lively, heartfelt atmosphere. K&D’s emphasis on giving back to their friends and family through thoughtful design, culinary excellence, and personalized touches, ensured that every element of the weekend reflected the care and love the couple felt for those who had supported them throughout their relationship.

K&D’s non-traditional wedding at Shepherd’s Run in Rhode Island was the perfect example of what happens when a celebration is thoughtfully personalized and truly meaningful. From their intimate Thursday ceremony to the stylish, joy-filled weekend that followed, every moment reflected who they are and what mattered most to them. It was such an honor to plan and design an experience that felt intentional, effortless, and unforgettable for both the couple and everyone who celebrated alongside them.
